It seems that Spring is finally here! Which means we have some wonderful activities coming up. Spring break is the first week of April. If your child is planning on attending the field trips that week please make sure they are on the list posted in the hallway (School Age children only).

 

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will be on Friday, April 6th. Details are described below. Please read carefully, this is right around the corner!

Summer Camp

 

The sign up lists are posted in the hallway and are filling up quickly! Be sure to reserve your spot and prepare for an awesome summer. Teacher Deana and Teacher Judy have some wonderful plans for this year like going to water parks, museums, the Utah State Fair, roller skating, movies, and a trout farm along with many fun arts and craft projects.

 

 

 

Easter Egg Hunt

It’s time for another fabulous Easter egg hunt! The children always love this. Every class will be making a basket to carry their eggs. Parents, it is very important that you send 12 stuffed eggs with your child before April 3rd. Please stuff the eggs with store bought candy. Nothing with peanuts please due to allergies.

 

 

 

Magic Show

Ronald McDonald is coming to Tender Years! He will be here on Thursday, April 26th to do a magic show for all the children. The show will be at 11:00 and is no additional cost to parents!

 

 

 

Kona Ice Day

Last year we had a Kona Ice Day a few times a month during the summer. For those of you who weren’t with us, this big snow cone truck comes and all the children get to build a snow cone and eat it! It was a huge hit and we are bringing it back this year. The first Kona Ice Day will be Tuesday, April 3rd at 10:00 AM. The snow cones are $1.50 and will be added to your account if your child participates.

 

 

 

Scholastic Book Orders

 

Scholastic book orders will be due by Monday, April 23rd. Your child’s teacher will send a catalog home with them and there are always extras in the office.

*Please check your child’s class calendar for special events and the month’s math and reading goals. This month, 2-3 year olds are working on letters W-Z and reviewing W-Z and counting and writing numbers 1-20 and reviewing shapes. Four to Five year olds are working on letters X-Z and reviewing letters X-Z, sounds and spellings, and counting and writing numbers 70-80.

 

From the Classrooms

 

Infants, Waddlers, & Toddlers

 

We will be having an Easter Party on Friday, April 6th. Don’t forget to bring in your stuffed eggs for the Egg hunt. Our babies are growing so fast. We have many who are working on crawling right now and a few walking. Please donate a box of tissues to our class if you can. Thank you Michelle Hicks for your large donation! Please remember to take your child’s blanket home at least once a week to be washed. Don’t forget to check the diaper board.

2 YEAR OLDS

 

 

Miss Nicolle – Please bring in an empty one gallon ice cream bucket so your child can make a basket for the egg hunt. Please bring this bucket by March 29th. We will be having an Earth Day celebration on Friday, April 20th. Please remember to label all of your child’s belongings to prevent mix ups. Make sure that your child’s change of clothes in their cubbie is weather appropriate. Potty Training Tip: Make a habit of your child sitting on the potty first thing when they wake up in the morning.

 

 

 

Miss Mayra – Friday, April 6th is our Easter Egg Hunt and party. Please bring in an empty one gallon ice cream bucket by April 2nd so we can make Easter baskets. Don’t forget Kona Ice day on Tuesday, April 3rd. Just a reminder of our meal times: Breakfast 7:30-9:10 Lunch 10:45-12:15 Snack 2:45-3:15 Dinner 5:40-6:20. Please allow your child enough time to eat. Please label all your child’s belongings and check our classroom whiteboard regularly for announcements.

 

 

 

 

 

3 YEAR OLDS

 

 

 

Miss Yoli – We are excited for our Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, April 6th. Please bring in an empty plastic ice cream container that we can make into a basket. Please bring it by Friday, March 30th. If you do not have an ice cream container please send a basket. Show and Tell will be Friday, April 20th. This month we are reviewing all of our shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond, star, etc.) please practice at home too. We have been working very hard on our table manners (chewing with mouth closed, wiping hands and face with a napkin, not talking with food in the mouth, etc.). Watch for these things at home too. Don’t forget to label all your belongings, check art folders daily, and bring in Box Tops!

 

 

 

PRE – KINDERGARTNERS

 

Friday, April 6th is our Easter Egg Hunt. We will be making baskets out of old cleaned out milk gallons. If you have one, please send an empty milk gallon by Monday, April 1st.Thursday, April 5th will be our classroom Easter party. Don’t forget to bring your 12 stuffed eggs before the hunt. This month we are working on the sound of the first letter in our name and adding numbers. Please donate your child friendly magazines to our classroom for some art projects.

 

 

 

KINDERGARTEN

Kindergarten Themes for April:

April 9-13: Plants and Flowers

April 16-20: Farm

April 23-27: Pets

April 30- May 4: Olympics Week

Homework Club is going great. Please let Teacher Judy know if you need her to focus on anything particular for your child. Please label all coats and belongings with a first and last name. We are collecting unwanted books and child friendly magazines for our classroom. Please donate any that you have.

 

 

 

Teacher Judy has ordered two new computer science games! Wild Life Zoo and My Amazing Body!
